Precision Casting Industry Ushers in Dual Upgrades in Technology and Industry, with 3D Printing + Intelligent Manufacturing as Core Driving Forces

In March 2026, driven by both technological innovation and industrial agglomeration, the precision casting industry is accelerating toward high-quality development. The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology issued the Three-Year Action Plan for Green Transformation of the Foundry Industry (2026–2028), which clearly stipulates a 3%–5% tax rebate for enterprises adopting green processes such as 3D-printed sand molds and short-process electric furnace melting, promoting the green and intelligent transformation of the industry.
 
On the technology front, the deep integration of 3D printing and precision casting has achieved major breakthroughs. Foshan Zhongcheng Intelligent launched the Cprint 3D wax pattern printer, reducing the wax pattern manufacturing cycle from several traditional days to 26 hours with a surface precision of 4 microns, suitable for small-batch, multi-variety production in high-end fields such as aerospace and medical devices. Shandong Guochuang Precision, together with universities, overcame the casting challenge of ultra-large offshore wind power hubs. The 14MW hub blank is formed in 3 minutes, reaching international advanced levels and providing core support for the localization of deep-sea wind power equipment.
 
On the industrial side, many regions are accelerating the layout of high-end precision casting projects. Four high-end projects each exceeding 500 million yuan have been launched in the Chenbao Precision Casting Industrial Base in Xinghua, Taizhou, with a total investment of over 3.2 billion yuan, covering high-precision bearings, auto parts and other fields. Adopting advanced processes such as centrifugal casting and smart factories, it will form an annual production capacity of millions of high-end castings upon completion. Wuchuan, Zhanjiang signed a 4-billion-yuan high-end valve intelligent manufacturing base, building a fully automated unmanned production line and striving to become the core supplier of high-end valves with the largest scale and highest level of intelligence in China.
 
Industry data shows that the annual output value of China's precision casting has exceeded 120 billion yuan, accounting for nearly 20% of the national total foundry output value, with investment casting accounting for more than 70%. It is widely used in aerospace, new energy, high-end equipment and other fields. With the large-scale application of 3D printing, AI quality inspection, green processes and other technologies, precision casting is transforming from traditional manufacturing to new productive forces featuring "intelligence + greenness + high efficiency", and its global market competitiveness continues to rise.
